Lie flat on your back with your knees bent and feet flat on the ground.
Place your hands behind your head with your elbows pointing outwards.
Engaging your abs, quickly curl your upper body up off the ground until your torso is at roughly a 45-degree angle.
Pause briefly at the top, then reverse the movement by lowering your upper body back down as slowly as possible, resisting gravity the whole way until your shoulders lightly touch the ground.
Repeat for the desired number of repetitions, keeping the lowering phase slow and controlled every time.
